Online Casinos attract middle–aged women
Who said online gambling is meant only for men? Today, Online Casinos have gained so much popularity that not only men but also large numbers of women, especially middle-aged; have engaged themselves in the internet gambling. In fact, a major study has recently found out that more middle-aged women gamble in the online casinos than any other sex or age group.
As per the study, the women aged between 46 and 55; typically opt for virtual slot machines at the online casinos. Not only this, their time-duration at virtual casinos was found to be more than men, though the amount betted was lesser.
The report established that a typical online poker player’s profile was nearly the converse, as young men, aged between 26 and 35, overtook women by almost 3 to 1 in the game. Moreover, they played for as much as 2-3 times in a week at the online casino tables.
To carry out the study, 10,865 people from across 96 countries were questioned by researchers from the International Gaming Research Unit and Nottingham Trent University. It was commissioned by the industry body, Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance, and Ecommerce.
