Sic Bo: The new Craps?

double bite

Sic Bo may be off-putting to some due to its ostensible complexity, seeing as how it’s played with three dice instead of the traditional two in Craps, and since players are generally apprehensive of unfamiliar games with a myriad new rules to memorize. There are, after all, up to fifty different betting options available, and that can be intimidating to a beginner. A few rounds into the game, however, it becomes apparent that Sic Bo offers an exciting alternative to Craps, with a far less convoluted betting system.

A brief guide to playing Sic Bo

A Sic Bo table has four individual rows, each with its own betting options.

First Row: A single die outcome on which number will be rolled. A bet can be on a single number or multiple numbers. Winning bet pays 1:1

Second Row: Every single 2-dice combo. Winning bet pays 2:1

Third Row: 3-dice totals from 4-17. Winning bets on 4 and/or 17 pays 60:1; bets on 9, 10, 11 and/or 12 pay 6:1

Fourth Row: Players bet on the 3-dice totals being Big (11-17), Small (4-10), Doubles – where a winning bet pays 10:1 if you bet on the correct double, and Triples – where a winning bet pays 30:1 on any triple, or 180:1 if you bet on the correct triple.

More and more online casinos are adding Sic Bo to their line-up of casino staples, with sites like Rushmore Casino already ahead of the pack, offering players a dedicated Sic Bo section with a slick graphic interface and plenty of multiplayer action.
