Taiwan decides to launch sports gambling
Taiwan is a contemporary industrialised megalopolis clutching to the bounds of the prehistoric culture; a thread of cities grouped together at the feet of a splendid mountain range.
The good news now is that Taiwan plans to launch sports gambling to fuel the economic development in the central and the southern parts of Taiwan, as reported by the Central News Agency (CNA) recently. The Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has been instructed to outline a distinguished plan by the cabinet for establishing sports gambling in a couple of regions, as heard from Chang Ching-sen, deputy director of the Council for Economic Planning and Development.
The plan is anticipated to be unveiled in June, 2007. After that, it is just a matter of time to introduce the sports gambling in central and southern Taiwan after getting a confirmation nod from the cabinet.
The cabinet plans to commence three varieties of sports gambling in central and southern Taiwan – horse racing, car racing and an additional sports gambling, Chang said. There are speculations that car racing could be introduced primarily since Taiwan does not require amending any law for its setup.
