Among the players sent to participate at the event by the leading Internet poker room, Remy Castaignon of France finished 28th. He managed to win $7,190 AUD prize.
Remy Castaignon had also secured decent prize money at an earlier event of Australian Open, thus winning an additional prize of $1,500 AUD. On other hand, Mike Levin of Canada ended in the 33rd place to win $4,790 AUD.
Earlier, all players sent by Titan Poker to Australia had a full day of exciting tours in the wonderful outskirts of Melbourne city. They started the picnic at the Healesville Animal Sanctuary to enjoy Australian wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos and dingoes. Later, they were carried to a wine tasting & lunch at De Bortoli Winery & Restaurant.
After the party was over, the more serious part started. Titan Poker has sent 13 players to be part of the Australian Open (also called Poker News Cup). It’s being played at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.
Over 400 players are playing in the Main Event that started on October 27, 2007. The Main Event carries an estimated prize pool of over one million AUD.
Leading Poker players from all over the world, including Australia, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, The Netherlands and the UK are participating in the prestigious event.
Apart from the Main Event, the players also feature in two specially organized freeroll tournaments. Most leading online poker rooms have sent their players to the tourney.
